Meet Ayana Cobb of Hardknocklife Entertainment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ayana Cobb.

Ayana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my business in 2014 because I found a need for information involving musicians. I am extremely resourceful and I am always seeking information to educate myself, so I can educate others.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Laughing, it has not been a smooth road. Some of the biggest struggles are ensuring that the individual wants to put in the work vs. demonstrating entitlement based only on their talent. A big lesson to avoid this obstacle is being patient…..like EXTREMELY patient when working with an artist. Ensuring the artist has put in the work to build their brand and ensure they have a willingness to apply what you are teaching vs. talking about it.

As you know, we’re big fans of Hardknocklife Entertainment. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I was born in Cincinnati Ohio and raised in Southern California, although I reside in Southern California I do not limit my talents to artist in my region. I am an artist manager and music consultant, I educate businesses on the importance of music license’s including securing permits for events at their locations to ensure they are in compliance with their city ordinances.

I’m known for helping artist build brands and what sets me apart is my passion to provide knowledge to artists regarding how to navigate through the music business.

I am proud of the relationships I’ve built and my work ethic being respected from other business owners to government agencies.

I would want readers to know you must be ready to work on your brand before expecting others to come along and assist you. I also have FAQ on my website to answer some of the most asked questions from artist. Most importantly, an individual must be resourceful and to not expect anyone to bring success to your front door.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I would encourage anyone who wants to collaborate to send me a brief email regarding the project and feel free to follow me on social media.
